Too long & sick!

I know it has been too long since my last post but I just can't seem to fine time anymore!! Since my last post we have been sick! We have had the stomach flu, fevers, runny noses, coughs, etc.

Literally, two days after my last post where I said we were finally healthy I received a call from daycare that Reagan had thrown up. She proceeded to throw up randomly for a week. Quinn also got sick but only for one day. Below is a picture of Reagan when she wasn't feeling the best. Poor little girl looks so sad.

Following the flu, Quinn was running a high fever for 2 days so I took him to the doctor and of course had another ear infection. We went through the course of the antibiotics and within 2 days he was sick again. This was a couple weeks ago. We were in Dodgeville visiting Matt's parents and grandpa who was in the hospital when Quinn woke up from his nap and was wheezing, his heart was racing and he was lethargic. We took him to the ER/Urgent Care in Dodgeville. He had bronchialitis and another ear infection. We finished his antibiotic early last week and he seems to be doing well. I feel so bad for him that he gets ear infections all the time. How many does he need to have before they says he needs tubes? Reagan has never had an ear infection but it seems during the winter Quinn can never get rid of them!!! GRRRR! Below is a picture of Quinn from the hospital visit in Dodgeville. He was so sick and just sat there the whole time (2 plus hours) so nicely and even fell asleep in my lap which has not happened since he was a baby.

Currently, Reagan is a little sick. She has a runny nose and a slight cough. I'm hoping we are all better this weekend so we can celebrate Easter in Dodgeville.

The twins are 22 months now. I can't believe in a little over a month they will be 2!!! Time has gone so fast I feel as though they are still my little 5lb babies. So what are our almost 2 year olds up to? Everything and anything! There is no relaxing when they are awake! Reagan is now talking in sentences which I can understand. I'm not sure everyone can understand what she says but it is coming together quickly. I'm sure in no time she will be talking nonstop! My favorite is when we are grocery shopping and everything we pass she screams "I want that, I want that, I want that!" She doesn't stop until we find the next item she wants and it starts all over again!

Their favorite thing to do is run around in their diapers! If they are cranky you strip them down to their diapers and let them run wild. I'm hoping they outgrow this!

I will end with some pictures from the past two months. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

I was trying to get a picture of Reagan's hair in french
braid pig tails but she wasn't having it at all!

Playing in a box! What could be more fun!

Quinn's favorite thing to do when he gets out of the tub is lose
his towel and ride the horse naked!

Baby girl!

Showing of their new towels

Handsome!

Posing for a picture. One of the only nice one of the two of them
I was able get in the past two months!

Until next time!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

The twins celebrated Valentine's Day with a trip to Mommy's work in the morning to "help" her work, short nap-time, pasta lunch and heart-shaped pizza and cookies for dinner. They have both been sound asleep since 7:00pm so I guess they had a good day :)

Knock on wood, for the first time in months the twins are healthy! We have finally got rid of the constant runny noses! I'm not sure if it is the spring like weather we are having lately but whatever it is we'll take it.

It's been a while since I have given a update on the twins so here it is:

Teeth - Both still have 12 teeth but Reagan's top eye teeth have poked through and Quinn's
bottom eye teeth have poked through.
Sleeping - Both still sleep from 7pm - 7am. On weekends they usually let us sleep until 8am! However, nap-time for Reagan has become a thing of the past when she is home with us on the weekends. She still will nap at daycare but will play in her crib for 1-2 hours at home. Quinn is a great napper. He usually naps about 2 hours. Both still sleep in their cribs. We haven't even thought about switching them to big boy/girl beds.
Eating - We used to have good eaters...now we have typical toddlers. They eat what they want, when they want. Quinn's favorites are lasagna, meatloaf, sweet potatoes and all fruits. Reagan's favorites are pastas especially spaghetti and all fruit. She hasn't found a veggie she loves yet.
Talking - I would say they both have a vocabulary of more than 50 words. Reagan is better than Quinn at putting words together but as always I don't think he is too far behind. They are picking up words every day and amaze me with how much they can understand. Quinn's favorite saying is "what's that". His first words when he wakes up in the morning are "what's that" and it continues constantly throughout the day. It seems like just yesterday they were learning their first words and now they can sing songs. The other morning before daycare I heard Reagan sing the whole song of row, row, row your boat and this afternoon Quinn was rocking in the rocking chair signing rock-a-bye baby.
Books - We love books! I would say their favorite toys are books. They love to be read to and love to learn and name everything in the books.
Sibling love - As can be seen in the photo below the twins love each other but they also love to fight with each other. In a normal day I probably break up 20 fights between toys. It doesn't matter if the have one or two of the same toy they always end up fighting over one. Biting and hitting have become very common in our house. I haven't figured out yet how to make this stop so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

I will leave you with a couple photos from the past couple weeks. Doesn't Reagan look so much different with her hair in a ponytail? Where did my baby go?

Super Bowl Sunday! Don't they look enthused!

Snacks! Our favorite!

Thanks for checking in - Hope you all enjoy the nice weather!

Belated Merry Christmas!

It was so fun watching the twins on Christmas this year compared to last year. I can't even imagine how much fun next year is going to be! Reagan was a little more into opening presents than Quinn. Quinn mainly wanted to play with the camera. It was hard to get pictures of them opening gifts because each time the camera came out Quinn went straight for it and would through a hissy if I didn't give it to him. This was something that of course only lasted for the week of Christmas!

The twins got way too many toys and have officially taken over our house! We have toys everywhere. Thank you everyone for all the presents!

You see the bump on Reagans head? She ran straight into the corner of our wall and ended up with a huge goose egg that split.

The twins are almost 20 months old now. It is so crazy how much change happens in them in a month. They are talking so much. Of course our favorite word is NO! Our other favorite word is hot. Anything with steam is hot, the furnace vents are hot, lights are hot, etc. When Quinn says hot he could wake up the whole neighborhood he says it so loud and then of course looks at you for a response. He is so cute. They got Elmo books from Grandma for Christmas and the other Reagan was reading the book to herself saying Melmo, Melmo, Melmo. I have never told her who Elmo is so I was shocked. I'm guessing that they watch Elmo at daycare but it just blows my mind at how much their little minds can soak up. I can literally teach them a word one day and they next they can say it plain as day. Reagan can say a lot more words than Quinn right now but he is catching up. They also like to point out your nose, eyes, ears, mouth, etc.

As you can see from the pictures below they both have wild personalities! They are so much fun and such happy kids most of the time. Reagan is our little diva and can be very stubborn. She is usually letting us know when Quinn is taking a toy from her. Quinn is more laid back and usually goes with flow but when he is tired watch out! The both still have 12 teeth but are for sure working on some more.

We have been sick in our house lately. In early December we all had the stomach flu. Recently, the twins have had colds/coughs. Daddy has had pneumonia and is still suffering with bronchitis. I am now getting something. It seems it never ends with kids! We are hoping that we will all be well in a few weeks and stay that way!

Thanks for checking in!

Santa!

We took the twins to see Santa last night and surprisingly we were able to get a good picture! At first I thought they were going to want nothing to do with Santa but the workers were able to work some magic and make them smile for a minute to snap this:

The twins just truned 19 months and are running circles around us! I can't believe how much energy they have. They keep us super busy but we are loving every minute of it!

We hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

18 Months!

The twins turned 18 months last Wednesday! We had their 18 month check-up on Thursday. Here are their stats:

Reagan:

19lbs 7oz
30 inches

Quinn:

22lbs 8oz
31 1/4 inches

They are both small for their age but Reagan is super small and only in the 2nd percentile for weight and 10th for height. Dr. Byrd isn't concerned. She is on track developmentally if not ahead for her age.

They are talking like crazy now too! Reagan now says "I love you". It is so cute and melts my heart every time.

Napping in our car seats on the way home from Appleton.

Below is our attempt at getting a picture of them on their 18 month birthday. At least they are both looking at the camera! As you can see Quinn has a blankie with him in the picture. In the past 3 weeks this has become a constant fixture at his side and follows us to daycare everyday!
