The rest of the weekend we enjoyed the nice weather and let the twins play outside lots. The swing on our patio has become their favorite toy. They love to swing with Daddy!
Tonight it was still really nice so we thought we would take the opportunity to allow the twins to play in leaves for the first time. Our friends Sara and Nate just bought a home near ours and have lots of trees with falling leaves! Good for us and the kids but not to fun for them to rake. Anyway, we brought them over there tonight to check it out. As always Reagan jumped in and was loving it, throwing the leaves in the air and jumping all around. Quinn on the other hand was not too sure as you can see. Thanks Sara and Nate! Sorry we made such a mess!
Both Reagan and Quinn are talking more and more every day. Reagan says a lot more actual words than Quinn but they are both progressing rapidly. Reagan will repeat almost every word you ask her to. She consistently says: hi, ball, socks, shoes, please, cheese, thank you, daddy, mama, diaper, puppy, outside, ally, baylor, blankie, sucky, ducky, baby, papa, stinky and bye bye. She can also sign all done and milk. The little stinker still doesn't say mama that often but every time she sees daddy or a picture she says daddy plain as day. I'm thinking she is doing this on purpose!
Quinn can say hi, ball, baby, papa, ally, baylor, please, ucky (sucky - he cannot make the s sound), and "bla" (a word he uses to refer to his blankie that does not sound like it at all but it is still cute). He can also sign all done. He is really good at making animal and other noises that you tell him. In addition to brrm brrm and baaa baaa he repeats moooo and very intently listens to all other noises you make.
They both are becoming a lot more attached to their blankies. Every morning when I go into Reagan's room to get her up she stands up with her blankie in hand and says blankie and shows it to me proudly and must hold onto it while I change her diaper and get her dressed and will carry it around for the rest the morning. She likes to wrap it around her and be called a princess. Quinn does the same thing. At some point they lose interest and have not yet demanded that we bring blankies with us but I'm sure that is not to far in the future.
Quinn is getting his first official haircut tomorrow night. Saying good bye to his baby hair and curls is going to be so hard but he needs a haircut badly. He is starting to have a little bit of a mullet and looks like bozo the clown on some days. I hope I am able to follow through. Wish me luck!
