The twins just truned 19 months and are running circles around us! I can't believe how much energy they have. They keep us super busy but we are loving every minute of it!
We hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Santa!
We took the twins to see Santa last night and surprisingly we were able to get a good picture! At first I thought they were going to want nothing to do with Santa but the workers were able to work some magic and make them smile for a minute to snap this:

18 Months!
The twins turned 18 months last Wednesday! We had their 18 month check-up on Thursday. Here are their stats:
Reagan:
19lbs 7oz
30 inches
Quinn:
22lbs 8oz
31 1/4 inches
They are both small for their age but Reagan is super small and only in the 2nd percentile for weight and 10th for height. Dr. Byrd isn't concerned. She is on track developmentally if not ahead for her age.
They are talking like crazy now too! Reagan now says "I love you". It is so cute and melts my heart every time.

Napping in our car seats on the way home from Appleton.
Below is our attempt at getting a picture of them on their 18 month birthday. At least they are both looking at the camera! As you can see Quinn has a blankie with him in the picture. In the past 3 weeks this has become a constant fixture at his side and follows us to daycare everyday!

Happy Halloween!!
The twins loved trick or treating! I was amazed at how quick they caught on. It took them each one time of candy being put in their bucket to get the concept. They didn't want to let go of the bucket when we were done! For not having candy at all before they both ask for it constantly now! We need to find a good hiding spot.
I wanted to get the perfect picture of them in their costumes but they had other ideas. I did get a few shots but not the one I wanted. The story of my life with 17 month olds :)
I hope you all had a Happy Halloween! Until next time -

Quinn's First Haircut!
We went through with it! He looks so much older now but just as cute! He sat very well during the cut too! We did have to distract him with our phones and camera but he made it through the whole cut with only a few whines. I was a proud mama!

Pumpkin Patch and Leaves!!!!
This past weekend Matt's brother, Chris, his girlfriend, Jody and her daughter, Danielle came for a visit. We love having them here and the twins love spending time with them! On Saturday we took the twins to the pumpkin patch. The weather was unseasonably hot but we still had a good time. I think the twins were a little young to enjoy it all but they did have fun!
Tonight it was still really nice so we thought we would take the opportunity to allow the twins to play in leaves for the first time. Our friends Sara and Nate just bought a home near ours and have lots of trees with falling leaves! Good for us and the kids but not to fun for them to rake. Anyway, we brought them over there tonight to check it out. As always Reagan jumped in and was loving it, throwing the leaves in the air and jumping all around. Quinn on the other hand was not too sure as you can see. Thanks Sara and Nate! Sorry we made such a mess!
Both Reagan and Quinn are talking more and more every day. Reagan says a lot more actual words than Quinn but they are both progressing rapidly. Reagan will repeat almost every word you ask her to. She consistently says: hi, ball, socks, shoes, please, cheese, thank you, daddy, mama, diaper, puppy, outside, ally, baylor, blankie, sucky, ducky, baby, papa, stinky and bye bye. She can also sign all done and milk. The little stinker still doesn't say mama that often but every time she sees daddy or a picture she says daddy plain as day. I'm thinking she is doing this on purpose!
Quinn can say hi, ball, baby, papa, ally, baylor, please, ucky (sucky - he cannot make the s sound), and "bla" (a word he uses to refer to his blankie that does not sound like it at all but it is still cute). He can also sign all done. He is really good at making animal and other noises that you tell him. In addition to brrm brrm and baaa baaa he repeats moooo and very intently listens to all other noises you make.
They both are becoming a lot more attached to their blankies. Every morning when I go into Reagan's room to get her up she stands up with her blankie in hand and says blankie and shows it to me proudly and must hold onto it while I change her diaper and get her dressed and will carry it around for the rest the morning. She likes to wrap it around her and be called a princess. Quinn does the same thing. At some point they lose interest and have not yet demanded that we bring blankies with us but I'm sure that is not to far in the future.
Quinn is getting his first official haircut tomorrow night. Saying good bye to his baby hair and curls is going to be so hard but he needs a haircut badly. He is starting to have a little bit of a mullet and looks like bozo the clown on some days. I hope I am able to follow through. Wish me luck!
The rest of the weekend we enjoyed the nice weather and let the twins play outside lots. The swing on our patio has become their favorite toy. They love to swing with Daddy!

Wedding weekend!
Our good friends Mark & Mandy got married at Carson Park last weekend. The day was beautiful. We are so happy for them and are blessed that we were able to share in their special day. We love you Mark & Mandy.
We brought the twins to the reception/dance for a few hours. Of course they had a blast dancing the night away.

I'm back!
My laptop had been out of commission for a month or so but it's back and I can post again! I find it too difficult to sit at our other computer and blog.
Twin Update
Teeth - Reagan still has 8 teeth but is working on two of her molars on top. Quinn has 10.
Talking - Both are talking more and more everyday. Reagan can say: hi, ally, baylor, papa, cheese, shoes, socks, please, puppy, baby and ball. Quinn can say: hi, papa, ally, baylor, ball, baby, brrrm, brrrm (noise a tractor makes), baa baaa (noise a sheep makes). You would think with all that talking they could say mama or dada when asked but nope. I think they know we want her to say them so bad so she is holding out.
Eating - They are both really great eaters and will normally eat just about anything. Reagan loves cheese but Quinn will avoid it at all costs. Breakfast is their favorite meal.
Sleep - Generally, when not teething, they sleep about 11 to 12 hours at night from 7 or 8 until 7. Quinn will usually sleep a little later until 7:30 or 8.
Naps - We now only take one nap a day. The transition has not been fun but we are trying to get them to go down later and later in the morning so their naps last longer into the afternoon and we are not having melt downs at dinner time. I'm sure in a couple months they will be used to the routine.
How big? - By our last unofficial measurements (we don't go back to the doctor for 2 months) Reagan is about 29inches and 19lbs and Quinn is about 30inches and 23lbs. Reagan is still our little peanut. By the rate she is growing she will still be in a car seat when she graduates high school!
It is so hard to believe that they are already 16 months old. I'm sad that they are growing so fast but also enjoying every stage. They amaze me everyday.
What have we been up to?
Since my last post we have been super busy.
Matt and I were in Milwaukee the last weekend of July for Matt's cousins 30th birthday party. The kids spent the weekend with my mom.
In the middle of August we spent a weekend in Appleton for a baby shower for Matt's cousin and his wife who are expecting a little boy anytime now. The twins had their first experience in a hotel and did very well. Reagan loved the little water park. Quinn wasn't so sure but really loved swimming around with daddy in the big pool.
On Matt's birthday (August 21st) we threw a surprise bachelor/bachelorette party for our friends that are getting married next weekend. We can't wait to celebrate with them!
Over Labor Day we spent the weekend in Dodgeville/Milwaukee. We had a wedding in Milwaukee on Sunday and the twins stayed with Matt's parents in Dodgeville. We also took the kids to the zoo for the first time in Madison. The seemed to enjoy it. I'm sure next year they will love it!
Last weekend we were back in Dodgeville for Matt's brother's 30th birthday party on Friday and spent the rest of the weekend in Winona visiting Jenny and her family. On Sunday we went to the apple orchard for some fun!
After next weekend our life will slow down again for winter. Summer is always so busy. I can't believe that soon it will be Halloween. We are planning to dress the kids as Pebbles and Bamm Bamm. We are going to make the costumes because I could not find any cutes ones to buy. I am not very good at sewing so we'll see if they turn out!
As always I will leave you with some of the cutest pictures from the past two months.

We have been debating on whether or not to cut Quinn's hair. Please give us your opinion and vote on the poll to the left. Thanks!
