Wedding weekend!

Our good friends Mark & Mandy got married at Carson Park last weekend. The day was beautiful. We are so happy for them and are blessed that we were able to share in their special day. We love you Mark & Mandy.

We brought the twins to the reception/dance for a few hours. Of course they had a blast dancing the night away.

I'm back!

My laptop had been out of commission for a month or so but it's back and I can post again! I find it too difficult to sit at our other computer and blog.

Twin Update

Teeth - Reagan still has 8 teeth but is working on two of her molars on top. Quinn has 10.

Talking - Both are talking more and more everyday. Reagan can say: hi, ally, baylor, papa, cheese, shoes, socks, please, puppy, baby and ball. Quinn can say: hi, papa, ally, baylor, ball, baby, brrrm, brrrm (noise a tractor makes), baa baaa (noise a sheep makes). You would think with all that talking they could say mama or dada when asked but nope. I think they know we want her to say them so bad so she is holding out.

Eating - They are both really great eaters and will normally eat just about anything. Reagan loves cheese but Quinn will avoid it at all costs. Breakfast is their favorite meal.

Sleep - Generally, when not teething, they sleep about 11 to 12 hours at night from 7 or 8 until 7. Quinn will usually sleep a little later until 7:30 or 8.

Naps - We now only take one nap a day. The transition has not been fun but we are trying to get them to go down later and later in the morning so their naps last longer into the afternoon and we are not having melt downs at dinner time. I'm sure in a couple months they will be used to the routine.

How big? - By our last unofficial measurements (we don't go back to the doctor for 2 months) Reagan is about 29inches and 19lbs and Quinn is about 30inches and 23lbs. Reagan is still our little peanut. By the rate she is growing she will still be in a car seat when she graduates high school!

It is so hard to believe that they are already 16 months old. I'm sad that they are growing so fast but also enjoying every stage. They amaze me everyday.

What have we been up to?

Since my last post we have been super busy.

Matt and I were in Milwaukee the last weekend of July for Matt's cousins 30th birthday party. The kids spent the weekend with my mom.

In the middle of August we spent a weekend in Appleton for a baby shower for Matt's cousin and his wife who are expecting a little boy anytime now. The twins had their first experience in a hotel and did very well. Reagan loved the little water park. Quinn wasn't so sure but really loved swimming around with daddy in the big pool.

On Matt's birthday (August 21st) we threw a surprise bachelor/bachelorette party for our friends that are getting married next weekend. We can't wait to celebrate with them!

Over Labor Day we spent the weekend in Dodgeville/Milwaukee. We had a wedding in Milwaukee on Sunday and the twins stayed with Matt's parents in Dodgeville. We also took the kids to the zoo for the first time in Madison. The seemed to enjoy it. I'm sure next year they will love it!

Last weekend we were back in Dodgeville for Matt's brother's 30th birthday party on Friday and spent the rest of the weekend in Winona visiting Jenny and her family. On Sunday we went to the apple orchard for some fun!

After next weekend our life will slow down again for winter. Summer is always so busy. I can't believe that soon it will be Halloween. We are planning to dress the kids as Pebbles and Bamm Bamm. We are going to make the costumes because I could not find any cutes ones to buy. I am not very good at sewing so we'll see if they turn out!

As always I will leave you with some of the cutest pictures from the past two months.

We have been debating on whether or not to cut Quinn's hair. Please give us your opinion and vote on the poll to the left. Thanks!

Dancing fools!

As I suspected we have two kids that love to dance! We went to a wedding reception two weekends ago and they danced the night away. Well, they danced for the 15 minutes that they were at the dance before Grandma and Grandpa DeMuth took them home!

We really haven't been up to much of anything else. We are just loving life and taking in every day with these two. I can't believe they are 14 months old already! Here are a few pictures from the past couple weeks.

FAIR and SURPRISES!

This past weekend we took the kids to the fair for the first time. Matt's brother, Chris and his girlfriend Jody, who were in town for my surprise party (more on that later) and my mom also went with us. The twins obviously are a little young for most rides but we took them on the merry-go-round and a truck ride. I went with Reagan on the merry-go-round and lets just say she was less impressed. I guess I always remember merry-go-rounds being slow but this one was fast, even I got dizzy. I can see why she didn't like it. I don't think Quinn was too happy about it either. I asked the attendant to cut the ride short. The both enjoyed the truck ride a lot better.

The animals were a big hit with Reagan. She would get so excited when she touched them. It was too cute. Quinn didn't really know what to think but quickly warmed up to them.

Of course we had to let the kids pick duckies for prizes! It is a little ridiculous what it costs but they loved the water!

The twins also enjoyed their first taste of fair food. Cheese curds, french fries, corn dogs, ice cream....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. All in all we had a great time. I can't wait to do it again next year. I bet the twins will have a blast.

This past Friday, July 9th, Matt threw me a surprise birthday party. He picked 29 instead of 30 because he claims I am too nosey and would have found out at 30. He's probably right : ) Thank you to every one who came and celebrated with me. I had a great time!! I couldn't have asked for a better night. I want to especially thank Matt for all the hard work he put into the party. I've been told that he did very detailed planning. Thanks so much honey! I love you!

Bad blogger

As always I am super behind on posting! I guess the twins have been keeping me busy!

What's new with us? Quinn is primarily walking. Reagan is almost running. Both can say "hi". They both say "mama" and "dada" but it is not distinctly directed to us. I think they will both be saying more words soon. They both watch your mouth when you talk and try to repeat words back to you. Reagan is sassy now. I can't imagine how sassy she will be when she can use words! Reagan still has 8 teeth and Quinn 6. At their one year appointment Quinn weighed 20.5 lbs and Reagan 17.5. Reagan is still our little peanut.

We have been doing a lot of playing outside. Both of them LOVE to be outside. If they are crabby and we bring them outside they immediately cheer up.

Always fighting over the same toy.

Trying to show daddy how it's done!

In and out is our favorite game.

Quinn loves to push his sister!

Of course playing outside has caused the twins to get their first boo boos :( They handle it way better than their mama.

My mom and I took the twins to their first wedding dance. Daddy wasn't able to go because he had a bachelor party the same day. He was sad but I took enough pictures so he could feel like he was there. The twins loved it! Reagan was a dancing machine!! Quinn wasn't quite as steady on his feet as Reagan but he sure tried to keep up with her. We have a wedding again in a couple weeks. I bet they are going to dance the night away!

Looking good before the wedding

Posing so nice for a picture with mama.

I tried to get a good front picture of her dancing but she kept running away from me!

Quinn is sticking close to Grandma but trying to bust a move!

For the 4th of July we headed to Grandma and Grandpa DeMuth's for long weekend. It was good to get away. We went to a local 4th of July parade. The twins loved the bands. They had the best seats in the house so they could see everything!

The twins had a great time and were sad to leave but we will be back there in two weeks for a wedding.

Hanging with Grandma and Grandpa

Sporting our 4th of July outfits from Aunt Bev!

We have been busy playing with a lot of their new birthday presents. Our house has been taken over by toys. I thought it would get better when we got rid of the baby swings but boy was I wrong!!

Other than that we have been enjoying our time with these two. I am so thankful to have them in my life. If I'm having a bad day at work I know it will get better when I pick them up from daycare. As always I will leave you with some cute pictures. Hopefully I will be back soon with more updates but I'm not going to promise! Happy belated 4th of July everyone.

Cool dude!

Hanging out - Quinn's not too happy about it

Our water baby - she will lay down in the tub all by herself. It makes me nervous!

Playing peek a boo - our favorite think to do with mommy's curtains

Reading with Cousin Danielle

See the nice scratch? He went down for a nap in a pack n play and woke up like this...

Giving Uncle Chris kisses!
