FAIR and SURPRISES!

This past weekend we took the kids to the fair for the first time. Matt's brother, Chris and his girlfriend Jody, who were in town for my surprise party (more on that later) and my mom also went with us. The twins obviously are a little young for most rides but we took them on the merry-go-round and a truck ride. I went with Reagan on the merry-go-round and lets just say she was less impressed. I guess I always remember merry-go-rounds being slow but this one was fast, even I got dizzy. I can see why she didn't like it. I don't think Quinn was too happy about it either. I asked the attendant to cut the ride short. The both enjoyed the truck ride a lot better.

The animals were a big hit with Reagan. She would get so excited when she touched them. It was too cute. Quinn didn't really know what to think but quickly warmed up to them.

Of course we had to let the kids pick duckies for prizes! It is a little ridiculous what it costs but they loved the water!

The twins also enjoyed their first taste of fair food. Cheese curds, french fries, corn dogs, ice cream....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. All in all we had a great time. I can't wait to do it again next year. I bet the twins will have a blast.

This past Friday, July 9th, Matt threw me a surprise birthday party. He picked 29 instead of 30 because he claims I am too nosey and would have found out at 30. He's probably right : ) Thank you to every one who came and celebrated with me. I had a great time!! I couldn't have asked for a better night. I want to especially thank Matt for all the hard work he put into the party. I've been told that he did very detailed planning. Thanks so much honey! I love you!

Bad blogger

As always I am super behind on posting! I guess the twins have been keeping me busy!

What's new with us? Quinn is primarily walking. Reagan is almost running. Both can say "hi". They both say "mama" and "dada" but it is not distinctly directed to us. I think they will both be saying more words soon. They both watch your mouth when you talk and try to repeat words back to you. Reagan is sassy now. I can't imagine how sassy she will be when she can use words! Reagan still has 8 teeth and Quinn 6. At their one year appointment Quinn weighed 20.5 lbs and Reagan 17.5. Reagan is still our little peanut.

We have been doing a lot of playing outside. Both of them LOVE to be outside. If they are crabby and we bring them outside they immediately cheer up.

Always fighting over the same toy.

Trying to show daddy how it's done!

In and out is our favorite game.

Quinn loves to push his sister!

Of course playing outside has caused the twins to get their first boo boos :( They handle it way better than their mama.

My mom and I took the twins to their first wedding dance. Daddy wasn't able to go because he had a bachelor party the same day. He was sad but I took enough pictures so he could feel like he was there. The twins loved it! Reagan was a dancing machine!! Quinn wasn't quite as steady on his feet as Reagan but he sure tried to keep up with her. We have a wedding again in a couple weeks. I bet they are going to dance the night away!

Looking good before the wedding

Posing so nice for a picture with mama.

I tried to get a good front picture of her dancing but she kept running away from me!

Quinn is sticking close to Grandma but trying to bust a move!

For the 4th of July we headed to Grandma and Grandpa DeMuth's for long weekend. It was good to get away. We went to a local 4th of July parade. The twins loved the bands. They had the best seats in the house so they could see everything!

The twins had a great time and were sad to leave but we will be back there in two weeks for a wedding.

Hanging with Grandma and Grandpa

Sporting our 4th of July outfits from Aunt Bev!

We have been busy playing with a lot of their new birthday presents. Our house has been taken over by toys. I thought it would get better when we got rid of the baby swings but boy was I wrong!!

Other than that we have been enjoying our time with these two. I am so thankful to have them in my life. If I'm having a bad day at work I know it will get better when I pick them up from daycare. As always I will leave you with some cute pictures. Hopefully I will be back soon with more updates but I'm not going to promise! Happy belated 4th of July everyone.

Cool dude!

Hanging out - Quinn's not too happy about it

Our water baby - she will lay down in the tub all by herself. It makes me nervous!

Playing peek a boo - our favorite think to do with mommy's curtains

Reading with Cousin Danielle

See the nice scratch? He went down for a nap in a pack n play and woke up like this...

Giving Uncle Chris kisses!

Firsts!

Sorry I've been neglecting the blog but we have been so busy lately. The twins are doing great! Reagan is a walking machine and Quinn isn't too far behind anymore! He walks more and more everyday. They are definitely keeping us busy! Quinn has 6 teeth and Reagan has 8. Reagan is working on more teeth but they haven't broken through yet. She has been fussy, drooling like crazy and her sleep patterns have changed dramatically. I'm hoping they pop through soon! Both are still eating really well and have not had a bottle since their 1st birthday! Part of me is sad that they are getting so big and independent so quick but I am looking forward to the years ahead. They learn new things and amaze me everyday.

Grandma DeMuth was here for a week and watched the twins for us. They had a blast with Grandma and wish she could be here more often. Thank you Grandma! We miss you and can't wait to see you next weekend!

We got the twins' 1 year pictures done a couple weekends ago. They turned out so cute! If you would like to check them out you can do so here: https://www.imagequix.com/exec/vando/welcome.php

Since my last post we have had a lot of firsts. We went to the children's museum for the first time on Memorial Day weekend and loved it. Unfortunately it was a spur of the moment event and I didn't have my camera with. Grandma and Grandma DeMuth were with us and saved the day by purchasing a ridiculously priced throw away camera so we able capture the moments. Now I have to get them developed something I usually do 3 times a year. I love taking pictures but am horrible at the rest!

We set up our outdoor pool and played in it. The twins loved it!!!! If they weren't turning blue from being cold they would have stayed in there forever!

Trying to climb the slide

Being consoled by Grandma after falling down the slide. The slide didn't stay in the pool for long. I should have known that would happen!

We went to our first Memorial Day parade. The twins were too little to enjoy it. I hope next year they will have more fun.

We took our new wagon out for our first ride and haven't stopped since. The twins love riding in the wagon way better than their strollers. We go for walks as much as possible. Being outside really helps them sleep better.

We went to our local root beer stand and had cheeseburgers, cheese curds, root beer floats and ice cream. I love summer when we can go to this spot! They have the best ice cream! The twins were there last year but were not able to enjoy the ice cream like they can this year : )

I will leave you with some more cute pictures from the last couple weeks. I love these two so much! What did I ever do without them? I hope you all have a good week.

Trying to get his hands on my camera

Already talking on the phone! We're in trouble!

We let them play in their new water table inside...that will not happen again!

Trying to get a good shot of both of them. I think I snapped 15 and this is the best I got. It was so much easier taking their pictures when they couldn't move!

Sharing : )

One of the many faces Reagan makes...she gets this side from her father : )

Playing so well together. Quinn thought it was hilarious when Reagan would put her face up to the mesh tent. BTW, I bought this tent at a garage sale for $5. It was the best purchase ever. They love it and play with it all the time! They love opening and closing the door and playing and dancing to the music. They are too cute!

Pushing the bus. Quinn's favorite past time. He will push the thing from one end of the house to the other and gets extremely frustrated when anything gets in his way. He has even taken out his sister a few times.

Does this picture even need a caption?
